Sister’s Charity

In conjunction with creating this blog we have now also set up a donation page on JustGiving for the Katie Piper Foundation.

In 2008 my sister was deliberately attacked in broad daylight in London which happened 2 weeks before my first marathon. She had acid thrown in her face and wasn’t expected to survive that night. I spent the next 2 weeks at her hospital bed and ran the marathon while she was in a medically-induced coma. Through ground-breaking treatments and hundreds of operations (which are still on-going to this day), she pulled through and has now dedicated her life and career to helping others and a set up a charity, campaigning for better access to the treatments she received.

If we have inspired you in any way with our running we would really appreciate it if you would like to donate to this important charity, which is obviously very close to our hearts.

The JustGiving page is at: https://www.justgiving.com/marathonpipers
Donations can be made in many currencies including GBP and USD.

For further information, this page details more about her story, her recovery and the charity she now runs:

You can be sure that 100% of your donation will go to the KPF charity. We completely self-fund our marathon adventures so anything you donate will go directly towards making a difference to people’s lives through the charity. We see the difference Katie’s charity makes first hand ourselves and the work they are doing is amazing.

You can also search YouTube for the TV programmes Katie has produced including her documentary “My Beautiful Face” and various interviews.

Many thanks,

Paul & Leah Piper
